I have a silver maple, no box elder trees. I have about 10 or more visible bugs on the south side of my white house in Wisconsin.

The best way to get rid of them is to mix a solution of dish soap and water in a garden sprayer. I live in Wisconsin too, and have no mature trees (my house is 5 years old), but we get hammered by them and Asian lady beetles from July-Sept. That seems to work the best.
