Call your county commissioner the zoning varies.

That depends upon the municipality or county ordinance for local roads. Each state has their standards for state and US highways.

In my area, I type "www.CITY NAME.org" then search for 'forestry' title.

Ours state 18' from street, 14' from sidewalk
per city ordinance and the home owner (if rental, owner of property) is responsible for maintenance. Unless and unknown weak branch came down from storm - - act of God & you better have insurance on YOUR vehicle.

Check for a website link in your city or call park dept in local area if it is small area.
