If they did, what would I have to do to protect them over the winter here in Denver, CO?
The fence is in complete sun all day. It can get cold here in Denver in the winter. |

You need to check with a local nurseryman for a variety that will survive the arid climate and Denver winters. He will need to know how much sun you get in that part of the house. Is it a Northern exposure to the sun or southern?

I live in the mountains of California, so it only gets down to about 10 degrees in the winter, but we have snow that usually cover my strawberries, but I mulch them in straw with no other protection. The key is to get strawberries meant for your region and you should have no problems. Fence line shouldn't be a problem as long as they will get enough sun in the summer and in the winter you don't have ice hanging off onto the strawberries in winter. Good luck. I started with about 35; and this year they have multiplied to nearly 100.
