    This other day, my friend told me that carrots are white and transparrent, and until they see sunlight do they if fact really become orange. Can you tell me if it is true? And why please!!

    i have pulled carrots out of the ground in a garden and they are orange

    Not true...carrots are orange underground and the color is not related to light exposure. There are some varieties of carrots that are white, but I have never seen or heard of any that are transparent.
