    I just break off the sprouts and cook them normally. Never got sick, yet.

    Don't eat the sprouts, just cut them out and proceed as usual. Now, if it's to the point where the entire potato is soft and mushy, don't eat it. If it's firm and just has some sprouted eyes, you're okay. I eat them all the time and am not dead yet.

    That isn't true at all. I have eaten them my whole life - 58 years and never even got ill once from them.

    Green potatoes are not safe to eat.
